The City that Sparkles: Dallas

The Dallas skyline doesn’t get enough credit. Yes, I know it doesn’t compare to New York City and all its glamour but Dallas doesn't have to compare to anything, The city lights up in it’s own unique way and it's home to many wonderful people. Talking about skylines, if you haven't been to the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge located by the Trinity River in Dallas, you’re missing out on a spectacular view of all of Dallas. This bridge is a semi-new addition to Dallas with construction completed just recently. After 5 years of work beginning in 2007, the bridge was finally opened to the public in 2012 as part of the Trinity River Project.

This location is truly easy going and laid back. The atmosphere is friendly and calm with joggers waving at you as they pass by. There are tables and lounge chairs to sit, converse, eat, and soak up the sun in. Another perk of this location is that parking is free!! Have you ever heard of parking being free in downtown dallas?? Well now I’m informing you that the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge not only has free, accessible, and reliable parking, but it also has one of the most scenic views in dallas, officially ranked 7 in USA today’s 10 best! Dallas sparkles at night, it’s such a beautiful sight. The city is quiet and lights up the dark night. You hear the buzzing of the city going to bed and all it’s inhabitants making their way home. It really makes you think about how no matter how busy things get, there’s always a point of silence and relief. It’s really a surreal feeling.

Not only can you get a glimpse of one of the best views of Dallas but not to far away are many popular dessert and food locations including Sprinkles Cupcakes and CrushCraft Thai, so you can grab a bite to go and bring it to this location and eat with your friends and family! If you have children there is also a little play ground that will keep them occupied making this location family and kid friendly. If you’re lucky you could catch some live music, photographers, and community events such a face painting!!

If you’re looking for a good view, some nice company, and a location that brings the community together, I recommend making you way down to the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge to catch a glimpse of the breathtaking city we call Dallas and that I call home.
